10 Video Game Franchises You Won't Be Seeing For A While

3. Metal Gear Solid

Dues Ex Mankind Divided Adam Jensen
Konami

As sad as this is, it's probably for the best. If Konami is involved, this is better left to memory.

It's incredible that a series as respected as the Metal Gear games is in a state like this, but without the involvement of Kojima, it has really fallen to the wayside.

Kojima is getting the chance to make his own wonderfully weird game with Death Stranding, so it doesn't make a lot of sense to try and compete with a brand new Metal Gear game. That's just bound to fail.

Take a look at the last Metal Gear game, Metal Gear Survive. Despite using Metal Gear Solid V's amazing engine and gameplay mechanics, Survive managed to be a complete mess, filled with bugs, microtransactions and boring gameplay.

Frankly, Metal Gear is better off dying than being left in the hands of Konami.

We wouldn't say no to a second Metal Gear Rising though...
