10 Video Game Heroes Having The WORST Day
1. Half-Life
Not being a scientist, I can't really fathom the idea of an experiment going "really bad". We're told if the Large Hadron Collider goes kerblooey it may create a black hole... or not. I can't live with that kind of pressure.
Unfortunately for Black Mesa scientist Gordon Freeman, he doesn't have the luxury of not worrying. Of course, I don't think he was expecting to be at the centre of a resonance cascade and subsequent Xen invasion, but here we are.
Given the circumstances, Freeman adapts surprisingly well to handling crowbars and firearms. Makes you wonder how extensive the Black Mesa recruitment process is...
There's me thinking a scientist would have to worry about some data not being backed up, or a colleague using your cold-stored formula as a salad dressing by mistake.
But no, slightly worse than that. Causing the dimensional rift, the flood of both alien and Marine forces into the facility and the eventual enslavement of the human race under the Combine instead.
I bet Gordon wishes he'd missed that scene-setting train ride into work now.
