10 Video Game Heroes Who Accidentally Made Villains MORE EVIL

4. Batman - Batman: Arkham

Now, there are certainly those who will say that Mr. Freeze isn't really evil per se, that he's just pathologically committed to saving his sick wife at any cost - but c'mon, there's a line where that commitment becomes too much.

After all, the man is shown to value his wife's survival above literally anything and everything else, freely allowing others to die in the pursuit of a cure for her rare disease.

And ultimately Batman gives the guy way too much sympathetic rope throughout the franchise, effectively enabling his single-minded mission to deny his wife's impending demise and, if you like, play God.

Freeze pulls the dying wife card a comical number of times throughout the Arkham franchise, having made it his entire personality in the process.

Perhaps most infamously in Arkham City, he pulls the colossal dick move of destroying a cure for Batman's poisoning right in front of him, and only agrees to give him the other remaining vial if he first rescues Nora from The Joker.

There's desperation to save a loved one and then there's... whatever the fresh hell this nonsense is.

Maybe just give Batman the cure upfront and trust that the heroic guy in the bat costume will do his heroic thing and save your wife from his most infamous enemy? Yeesh.
