10 Video Game Items Everyone Hoards (But Never Uses)
1. Health Potions - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Healing can be the difference between life and death in Skyrim. A dragon's breath can potentially down your character within seconds, unless you have a way to cure your wounds or stuff your mouth with a bear's worth of meat in half the time.
For this reason, collecting health potions of all shapes and sizes seems like the smart thing to do. And perhaps it would be if most players weren't so stingy about using them.
Every Skyrim player has at least one run where they were pointlessly collecting an entire alchemy shop in their inventory, only to never use it for any occasion. It's hard to blame them for this, however, as the game offers far too many alternatives to healing that can do the job just as well, with no loss of precious clutter bottles.
Who would want to waste a perishable potion when there are quick healing spells and foods that can fix them up instead? The other options just feel smarter, and yet it's still difficult for many to quit their potion hoarding habit.
It's a hard pill to swallow, but next time you see a red bottle, try using it as soon as you can, or just sell it to save yourself some inventory space.
