10 Video Game Items Everyone Hoards (But Never Uses)

9. Drugs And Alcohol - Fallout 4

Alcohol and drugs have a long history in the Fallout series. The games are basically like anti-anti-drug PSAs, as they tend to tell players that heaps of drugs drowned with whiskey and vodka will make your character faster, stronger, smarter, and, in general, better, as each narotic and alcoholic beverage can raise your stats temporarily when you need it the most.

In most Fallout games, being able to increase your attributes is incredibly useful, as even one extra point in intelligence or charisma can alter your dialogue choices or provide additional utility.

In Fallout 4, however, it's about as useful as the addiction you get from consuming drugs. The stats of your character in Fallout 4 don't play an important part in the gameplay for the most part, and so you'll usually collect them out of habit and then either use them as decorations in your settlements or let them clutter your inventory.

You seriously don't need to carry ten stacks of wine and Mentats everywhere, but then again, after spending the past two decades as functional drug abusers, it's not surprising so many players still have to deal with their addiction to this day.
