Many of the complaints levied here are very similar the water level entry. And so it should be! After all, ice is just hard water... right? Again, the reason these levels are so utterly reviled - by us at least - is the fact that every little shred of physics that's been established has went clear out the window, then frozen over and been thrown back at you.

The top offenders here are usually platformers, the two that come to mind are Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon. Is there anything more frustrating sliding uncontrollably into a box of nitro and getting sent back to the last check point? Or gliding gracefully across a gap only to land on the ice across from you only to tumble off the edge with all the grace of us trying to open our front door at 3.00am on a Sunday morning?

Look, there's by no means any need to actually get rid of ice and snow levels, per se, just get rid of the thing that we all hate: the slippy slidy bit. There are plenty of examples wherein ice levels can actually be pretty ace. Okay, so there's one: The Iceberg Lounge section of Batman: Arkham City. Sure, you had to be careful as you crossed, but there weren't no slippy slidy, and, if you ask me, that's pretty chill.
