10 Video Game Movies That Wouldn’t Definitely Suck

When a studio decides to adapt a video game into a movie, they tend to go for popular games, as they know there will be a guaranteed market for it. So what better game to choose for the big picture treatment that Skyrim?

Since its release in 2011, Skyrim has become one of the most popular games ever made. Players have poured hundreds of hours into it; creating thousands of mods that are still being made to this day. The game is so popular it got a current gen remaster and was even featured in the advertising for the Nintendo Switch. A six year old game was used as the main draw for a brand new console – that’s how much people love it.

So the market’s there, but it still has to be good enough to turn into a film. Thankfully, the fantasy setting and the mythical story of the game make it a perfect choice for movie adaptation.

With Game of Thrones and Vikings proving popular with TV audiences, there’s a gap in the market for something like Skyrim. As long as the film focused on a solid story, just like Game of Thrones and the Lord of the Rings series have, and didn’t just become a CGI mess (like Gods of Egypt), Skyrim would make a great movie.
