10 Video Game Movies We Actually Want To See
1. Bioshock
The aesthetic and world-building of this gaming franchise make it stand out entirely amongst the rest. There is no other setting that is even remotely similar to that of Rapture. A film based there would be something that audiences have never seen before. Drumming up tonnes of attention, and if handled correctly, generating a whole new franchise.
Inspired by the Ayn Rand books, this ground-breaking series has a great connection with storytelling. Taking the concept of gaming narrative and pushing it to the next level with one of the best plot twists that the creative arts have ever seen has already led many to see its potential as a film. There have been studios that approached the idea, but ultimately it never happened.
Whilst it seems logical as the setting would be vastly tricky to recreate there is still a good chance that a film based in this world would make enough money to counteract the extensive budget that it would require.
With a pre-existing fanbase and a unique premise, there would be plenty of audience for this title. It wouldn't even need to approach the same story as many already know how that goes. But to take the world of Rapture and to produce a new experience inside it would be a fantastic opportunity for creativity in the film industry.
