Rather than hitting the player over the head with tips and tutorials, FromSoftware titles expect you to figure everything out by yourself.

And none of Hidetaka Miyazaki's work exemplifies this notion more than Elden Ring. Because little is explained to you, you can play through the entire campaign without grasping the best way to use basic mechanics or items.

Speaking of which, many people use a Consumable called Baldachin's Blessing, unaware of how it works. To acquire this artefact, all you have to do is embrace Fia in the Roundtable Hold.

At first, Baldachin's Blessing seems pretty nifty, since it grants you extra poise. However, Fia fails to mention the heirloom has a catch. So long as this item remains in your inventory, your Max HP will be decreased by 5%. Because this is never directly mentioned, many players can have this "blessing" equipped for hours, oblivious of the cost.

Even though 5% of health doesn't sound like a big deal, it's sure to make the difference between life and death, considering everything in Elden Ring is trying to kill you. So, when Fia offers you a free cuddle, tell her you're not interested.
