8. Open World Pedestrians Jumping In Front Of You

Making games is hard enough - but open world games? So many different moving parts need to come together seamlessly to even make them playable, much less good. I can't imagine what goes into building the AI of dozens or hundreds of different NPCs, but I bet it's hard.

But for the love of all that is good, can anyone tell me why pedestrians in open world games are trying so hard to die?

You see it all the time in pretty much any open world game with deadly vehicles. You're in a high speed chase, fleeing from the authorities. Meanwhile all around you are pedestrians, understandably, panicking and desperately trying to get out of your path of mayhem.

You're moments from hitting someone, so they muster all their strength for one big, final leap... right in front of you. And now your wanted level has increased because of some random jerk's death wish. Honestly, it would be easier to not hit them if they just did nothing.
