10 Video Game Products That Insulted Their Key Audience

1. Wii Remote Attachments

The Wii Remote really has taken a beating today hasn't it?

The upside of the Wii remote is endless, and its innovative design meant third parties were itching to contribute to its success. The Wii saw plenty of attachments and products designed to 'enhance' the experience, and while some were worthy of the system, others really weren't.

With the popularity of Wii Sports (due in large part to it being bundled with the system at launch), it seemed obvious to toy companies to devise an attachment that turns the remote into the tool that was required for said mini game.

Clipping a plastic tennis racket attachment to the controller transforms it into a tennis racket, which surely improved your score on the tennis component of Wii Sports, right?

What was perhaps more insulting was the numerous games that felt the need to point out that the attachments were compatible with their game, forgetting that the attachment is nothing more than moulded plastic.

All these attachments serve to do is increase the chance of knocking something off the living room shelf and take up more room in your overflowing drawer of disused video game controllers.
