10 Video Game Products That Insulted Their Key Audience
6. Shower Power - Super Mario Bros
The release of Super Mario Bros on the NES in 1985 began a craze for the Italian plumber unlike anything the medium has seen before. Nintendo's iconic character is the poster child for not only the company who created him, but the entirety of video games, so it was no surprise that a plethora of Super Mario products hit the shelves for gamers to flock to.
One such item was, curiously, the Shower Power, an attachment for the bathroom which reminds you of your love for the Jumpman every time you wash. Though game collecting often comes with a smattering of toys and merchandise to decorate the area, extending this love to the bathroom is simply a bridge too far.
It's bad enough when its installed in your home, but having a potential partner over (for those bachelors out there) is a no-go, as the budding relationship is sure to diminish when they find your bathroom decorated with a Super Mario Bros shower head.
The product is perhaps insulting on its own, but the insults the owner will receive as a result of having it in their possession are sure to be endless.
