10 Video Game Products That Insulted Their Key Audience

5. Action Figures - Dead Or Alive

Dead or Alive's reputation as a serious fighting game rivalling Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat has become increasingly tarnished by the series' shift to skimpy clothing and provcative themes.

Though the gameplay in the series has remained constantly enjoyable, the characters seem to lose clothing with every new release. NetherRealm's recent titles do well to make iconic characters Mileena and Kitana far more than just their appearance, yet Dead or Alive constantly fails to do so, which is insulting to those who are itching for a good fighting game experience.

The aesthetic benefits of a pristine figure of Nathan Drake that sits on the shelf of a serious video game fan is going to be ruined when said fan partners him with a figure of Honoka sporting a suggestive bunny outfit.

The action figures that depict characters in the series are almost always overtly objectified, and anyone who purchases the product is surely going to be met with more than concerned looks. Action figures are a manifestation of our gaming interests, yet the plentiful Dead or Alive toys that hit shelves will have people believe you're interested in something completely different.
