10 Video Game Remakes Fans Won’t Allow

4. Banjo-Kazooie

You have to feel sorry for Banjo and Kazooie. Their Nintendo 64 debut was just as exciting as Super Mario 64 in places and it's drawn a cult fanbase as a result, but recently, they've been left by the wayside somewhat. Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts was a pretty bad idea all round, and aside from the XBLA ports of the two Nintendo 64 games we haven't seen anything from the twosome since.

A Banjo-Kazooie remake would be great, it really would. Rare can clearly make beautiful games (Viva Pinata, Nuts & Bolts) and their new found style would really suit the original game... But wouldn't you much rather see a brand new game? Banjo-Threeie (the name comes from a reference in Banjo-Tooie) has long been discussed and clamored for; undoubtedly the majority of the fanbase would much rather see a brand new game being developed than a remake.

Is either option likely? It's hard to judge. Rare are now owned by Microsoft and their last title was Kinect Sports Rivals; it's possible that Microsoft may be interested in cashing in on the company's history but it's so hard to tell. Would Rare even be able to do the title justice anymore? Maybe it's best that they just leave it be.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
