People have been asking for a remake of the classic The Simpsons and Run Hit for years now, and it’s not hard to see why. Being regarded as the best Simpsons game to date, it offered a Grand Theft Auto style sandbox in Matt Groening’s hugely recognizable world.

Whilst it would seem on the surface not much could be done to remake the game, given the art style, there are a number of ways it could be improved. Updating the AI, modernizing the physics engine and controls, and giving it a more cell-shaded art style alone would bring the game into the present day.

It can’t really be called a cult classic due to its huge success upon release, but it has retained a massive fanbase of loyal followers since.

As games have generally got more serous over the years, bringing a satirical, comedic game based on an animated TV show to the next gen would be a breath of fresh air. In a market dominated by serious, gritty first person shooters, let players run free and gorgeously realized Springfield. Fans have been pleading for it for years.
