Now, GTA's definitive editions certainly committed bigger crimes than removing some songs from the soundtrack. We have covered extensively the litany of bugs, changes and mistakes present throughout these three poorly-optimised titles, but in terms of things that were actively removed from the previous editions, the soundtrack songs shouldn't be overlooked.

Licensed music is always a nightmare in video games, so it's probably no surprise that it was tough for Rockstar to get everything locked down for this project. But, this is Rockstar. If any company could rally the resources and figure the deal out, it's them. These are some of the most beloved games of all time, repackaged for a new audience and given the title of definitive edition, and there's nothing "definitive" about a version that demonstrably has less content.

Again, it seems minor, but it's not. Ask any fan of these games, and they'll be able to reel off music that soundtracked their experience. The tracks are part of each title's identity, and to overlook that fact feels lazy.
