8. Alice Is An Android - Detroit: Become Human

The narrative of man versus machine, or man learning to work with machine, has been doing the rounds now for quite some time. As has the "Can an AI really love?" as a concept, that it's given us some great debate on the whole business.

So for the most part of Kara's story in Detroit: Being Human, we're presented with this when she helps Alice flee her abusive father and they both go on the lam. It presents the above argument: can a robot really care for a human and vice versa, will this be something it can be taught to make us and machine more alike?

Doesn't really matter when it's discovered that *gasp* Alice is an android too! In fact, it makes the whole bloody concept moot when you realise Kara's just been looking after one of her own. It also makes you wonder why she'd never picked up on this before. Surely androids can, for argument's sake, scan each other or whatnot?

It was peak Cage: shoehorn a pointless twist in just... well, for the sake of it.
