10 Video Game Rewards That Were Profoundly Insulting

1. Cyberbullying - Gex

Crystal Dynamics

Gex is a mostly forgotten 2D/3D set of platformers from the Playstation's early years. It spawned a few sequels and helped put Crystal Dynamics on the map, but pretty much everyone forgot about the franchise as soon as they stopped making it.

Let's be honest, there's no one out there signing petitions for a Gex reboot. It was fun as children, but as an adult I can't think of many things more annoying than a wise-cracking, movie-quoting, shades-sporting lizard with attitude.

Except for its secret ending.

Maybe the only thing more insulting than a character whose entire personality is lazily quoting popular movies, is... being insulted yourself.

Because for getting 100% completion in Gex - which includes finishing the game twice - you basically earn the reward of being cyber-bullied. No really, for like 20 minutes you just watch text pop ups list numerous examples of why you're such a loser with no life.

While that kind of wry, self-loathing humor mostly worked in the '90s, Crystal Dynamics went a bit too far by verbally assaulting you for having the nerve to enjoy their game to its fullest.
