10 Video Game Rip-Offs That STILL Messed Up What They Copied
6. Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival - Mario Party
A second entry for everyone's favourite anthropomorphic life simulation series though this time in much less favourable terms, Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival is undoubtedly the black sheep of the beloved series.
The game was always going to struggle to find a niche inside the franchise's fervent fanbase, made worse by the fact that many had hoped prior to the unveiling that Amiibo Festival was instead going to be a fully-fledged main instalment in the series on the Wii U.
Still, while the game wasn't exactly what fans had been hoping for, Amiibo Festival could've still been successful in bringing a Mario Party-like experience within the more relaxed world of Animal Crossing.
Unfortunately, while Amiibo Festival shares a number of qualities with other party games, it somehow misses out on the number one principle of the Mario Paty series:
Fun.
Instead of being a frantic experience to enjoy with friends, Amiibo Festival is an agonisingly slow slog around an unimaginative board that completely fails to capture the charm of the Animal Crossing franchise.
