10 Video Game Secret Endings That Weren't Worth It
1. The Knightfall Protocol - Arkham Knight
To get the true ending to Arkham Knight, called the Knightfall Protocol, the player had to capture all of the villains on Gotham's Most Wanted list before finishing the main storyline. The list was quite long and filled with some pretty tough boss fights, but in reality, only one of Batman's nemeses proved to be so annoying that most players didn't even bother to reach the true ending.
Just as in any other Arkham game, Arkham Knight's Riddler could only be confronted after the player collected all of his trophies—a total of 243 green question marks scattered all over Gotham City along with irritating puzzles. Since Riddler made it onto the Most Wanted list, the players had to get all of his trophies if they wanted to unlock the true ending.
Those who had the mental fortitude to spend hours scouring the city and solving Riddler's puzzles were rewarded with what had to be one of the most disappointing payoffs in the franchise's history.
The true ending turned out to be a slightly altered version of the regular ending cutscene, and while it did shed some more light on the Dark Knight's fate, it certainly wasn't worth putting up with Riddler's nonsense.
