Sometimes you're just curious to see if the game has something prepared for when you fail spectacularly.

Mass Effect 2 has a secret ending made specifically for when you manage to kill all of your crewmates in the final mission, but it comes at a price. And no, it's not just the lives of your companions.

First off, killing everybody on your squad is more difficult than it sounds. You need to be really underprepared for the final assault on the Collectors and then know exactly which companion will be the worst suited for a particular task. Once you figure that out, you can watch as all of your closest friends get killed, which will trigger a scene in which Shepard sacrifices him/herself to buy Joker, Normandy's pilot, some time to escape.

Great. You got that out of your system, and now you can move on to the next game, right? Actually, you can't.

Since Shepard is dead, your save file can't be imported into Mass Effect 3. If you want to continue with your Shepard from 2, you'll have to go back and redo the mission, which will probably set you back at least a couple of hours.

Moral of the story? Don't kill your friends out of curiosity.
