10 Video Game Secrets So Well Hidden Developers Had To Help You Find Them
8. Seals! - Splinter Cell: Double Agent
Splinter Cell games tend to be on the more serious side, which is why finding a silly, lighthearted easter egg in them can be quite a pleasant surprise. Even better is when the silly easter egg turns out to be a massive secret mission that no one knew about.
Splinter Cell: Double Agent had a secret rescue mission in one of its stages that involved a group of adorable baby seals hidden in different areas of the map. After finding them, the player had to feed them, take care of them, and eventually take them back to their people and contact their princess (yes, apparently the baby seals are ruled by a monarchy).
Despite how elaborate this secret mission was, no one really knew about its existence until it was revealed to the public via a video made by a friend of the developer who created the mission. After that, the whole internet felt the zeal of the seal and immediately fell in love with the sheer ridiculousness of black-ops soldiers helping out this group of adorable little critters.
Well, at least now we know why they're called the Navy Seals...
