10 Video Game Secrets You WERE Supposed To Find

9. The Witcher 2 - Dead Assassin

Before the absolutely superb The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, The Witcher 2 aimed high with an engrossing world based on The Witcher book series. It's a dark, layered and beautiful insight into a medieval fantasy world. Yet, within its prologue, it manages to deliver a cheeky wink to another series.

The beginning moments of The Witcher 2 invest you into the intrigue of its world through the eyes of our protagonist, Geralt, and yet, amongst the bloodshed of its opening battle, a lone body can be found which references to another popular gaming series.

Looking around the opening environments, you'll find a hay bail that's been trashed and a body lays drooped over its remains. Further investigation will lead you to discover that this is actually an assassins, as they wear the classic clothing from the highly popular Assassins Creed series.

Geralt will make a joke about how assassins never learn, before receiving an assassin attribute for their character. So not only is it a little nod to a beloved series, but it also serves to enhance your game too. Good job, CD Projekt Red. Good job.
