10 Video Game Sequels Better Than The Original

6. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare saw the once World War 2 series take the leap into modern times – and boy did we love it.

An exciting first mission straight off the bat, a fantastic campaign full of shock deaths and one of the best single player missions in any game ever (“All Ghillied Up”), and the start of a multiplayer culture that continues to thrive. If Halo 2 brought online FPS multiplayer to consoles, this is the title that saw console gaming overtake PCs.

Yet for all its glory, Modern Warfare 2 was able to add to the original in such a way as to surpass it. The single player campaign, while not as revolutionary, continued to shock and excite us, including the world-wide controversial “No Russian” airport mission. However, it was again the multiplayer improvements that saw Modern Warfare 2 better the original, with more maps, more weapons, faster play and more perks.

It also introduced Spec Ops, where players could work individually or as a local co-op team to take on a variety of missions and challenges.

Spec Ops is more fun that endless Zombie modes, Activision! Bring it back.
