10 Video Game Series Netflix Must Adapt
9. Wolfenstein
While a show based on the original games might be a bit dull – silent protagonist, corridors, corridors and more corridors – the 2014 soft reboot Wolfenstein: The New Order, took the story in a new direction and had some fun while doing it.
Although fans of The Man In The High Castle may find this premise familiar – an alternate history, in which the Axis powers won the Second World War – rest assured, that’s where the similarities end.
Where the Amazon TV series is a slow paced thriller that depicts a dystopian Nazi ruled future, Wolfenstein is a fast paced, kick-ass comic book esque romp, telling the story of William "B.J." Blazkowicz, a WW2 veteran who after being knocked unconscious by an explosion in 1946, wakes up in a Polish insane asylum in 1960, before escaping to continue his own personal war against the Nazis.
A Wolfenstein TV show could turn out to be the perfect foil for the uber-serious TV shows dominating the box at present – with a wise cracking John McLane like protagonist, Nazi soldiers, robots, armoured dogs and maybe, just maybe, Mecha-Hitler as well.
