10 Video Game Side-Quests That Were Better Than The Main Story

5. Catacombs - Assassin's Creed 2/Brotherhood/Revelations

When it comes to memorable missions in the Assassin's Creed games, most people are at a loss as to the specific details. Missions become a blur of the same parkour, stabbing and fighting mechanics so that almost all the missions amalgamate into the big gargantuan story.

So, the catacombs become some of the more memorable missions, and for good reason. They take the parkour, fighting and stabbing mechanics and refine them into intricate challenges where you actually have to consider where to jump to next.

They are the best use of the mechanics in each game as they take away the meaning and simply put you in a well-designed gauntlet. They end up being memorable because they require some thought. That's not to say the main stories are terrible, but rather you'll have trouble picking out specific missions for any of them. And the ones you remember aren't going to be favourable.
