10 Video Game Sidekicks Who Kicked Your Ass

1. Six - Little Nightmares II

In a neat twist, the protagonist of the first Little Nightmares, Six, becomes the sidekick in the sequel to new player character Mono.

But this leads to a rather wayward betrayal at the very end of the game, when as the pair are fleeing from a giant mound of flesh, Six decides to let go of Mono's hand rather than help him climb up to a refuge point.

Six escapes through a TV portal, leaving Mono trapped and surrounded by the fleshy mass. Over time, he grows taller and eventually takes on the appearance of the Thin Man, the terrifying villain who has been pursuing both Mono and Six throughout the game.

To recap, Six didn't just abandon Mono to his own devices, she left him to become a monstrous antagonist.

That's all kinds of messed up, and with a third game recently confirmed to be in the works for a 2024 release, we evidently haven't got to wait too long to see what happens next.
