10 Video Game Signs You HAD To Ignore

9. Welcome To Rapture - BioShock (2007)

If you've played BioShock, you'll know that the underwater city of Rapture is a million miles away from what its name suggests. Its citizens driven mad by overexposure to plasmids and monstrous Big Daddies stomping all over the place, you're probably better off staying on dry land than paying a visit to this forsaken hellscape.

The first game's protagonist, Jack, has no choice, however, having come across the entrance to Rapture after his plane crashes in the middle of the ocean. As he's taken all through the city's inner workings, he eventually comes to the main door, above which a very ironic sign sign reads, "Welcome to Rapture - Opportunity Awaits."

Andrew Ryan may have had a perfect vision for his forgotten city, but it's clear to us that whatever opportunities lie in wait for us beyond those doors are probably not quite the ones he had in mind.

Luckily for you, Rapture comes equipped with ammo-bearing vending machines, and with the added bonus of plasmid powers, you're more than capable of breezing past this redundant message and putting the nightmarish place out of its misery.
