10 Video Game Stories That Didn't Need To Happen

8. Saints Row 4

The Saints Row franchise is not stranger to insane story related adventures, and the forth game in the series is no exception, as you and the Saints must defeat an alien race determined to take over the world with your new found super powers.

In a section of the game where you try to save hacker Matt Miller, the games antagonist Zinyak gives you a choice between a red door and blue door. (That’s two easter eggs for the price of one referencing the Matrix franchise.)

Entering the blue door leads to Miller, where Zinyak claims you will continue to try and fight to save the human race but fail. Entering the red door however will secure the freedom of all the humans Zinyak has in captivity, but will mean you hand yourself over for execution.

Choosing the red door will end the game, before rewinding to events prior to your choice, giving you another chance to continue.

On the one hand, this does mean that the game would end early, but on the other, there is no guarantee Zinyak will keep his word.
