10 Video Game Stories That Didn't Need To Happen
2. Fallout 3
The Fallout games are famous for many things. Massive open worlds. Fun character creation. The Vats System. The Vaults. Nuclear annihilation. And a ton of side quests that get in the way of completing the main story objective.
The same applied to Fallout 3. After growing up in vault 101 your whole life, tragedy befalls your family as your father suddenly leaves the vault without giving a reason as to why.
After deciding to leave the vault in a bid to find him, you are left to fend for yourself in the radiated wastelands as you go from settlement to settlement, looking for clues for your father.
This can lead to you being overwhelmed with various side quests to pursue, but if you happen to know where to look, you can find your father very easily.
As soon as you leave the vault, you can head straight for a place called the Gas Station. Here, you discover your father is being held captive within a virtual reality simulation. From here, you can simply complete the final few main quests in the game and complete the main story.
So much for the tales of “The Lone Wanderer.”
