10 Video Game Sub-Bosses Who DESTROYED Players

7. Star Wolf - Lylat Wars

Resident evil 4
Nintendo

You’d think that being an enormous disembodied space ape head with floating Smash Bros hands would be peak-level intimidation (and I’m not going to lie, if I saw it in the cereal aisle in Tesco, I’d probably just skip getting my Weetabix), but Andross isn’t the most dangerous foe you’ll face in Lylat Wars.

That rosette goes to Star Wolf (narcissistically, both the name of the individual and the team), a persistent force of evil and thorn in the side of the Star Fox crew.

Star Wolf fly the “Wolfen” ships, which are regarded as equal to Star Fox’s Arwings in speed, manoeuvrability and durability, and all four members - Wolf, Pigma, Leon and (cough) Andrew - will frequently turn up to have a scrap with Star Fox at the most inopportune moments.

After a few defeats in Lylat Wars, they disappear, seemingly for good - but return as the final vanguard for Andross’ fortress in Wolfen IIs, upgraded ships capable of shredding an Arwing like urine through the contents of a Slush Puppie machine.

With skill (and Furry Plot Armour), Star Fox prevails again regardless, inexplicably letting them escape for the umpteenth time like a bunch of absolute Slippys.
