By the time of the third instalment in the Dark Souls series, players all around the world had gotten used to dying - over and over again. Whether that be thanks to a well-placed ledge or just a random enemy waiting to get the drop on you.

Seriously, they're often just waiting around the corner.

For the most when it comes to pain being handed out by FromSoftware, it’ll be in the form of a boss. Big or small, fast or slow, the FromSoftware boss is nothing to be taken likely, even some of the more gimmicky one can send the most skilled player back to a bonfire.

So with Dark Souls 3, the developers threw in a neat trick, that if noticed, can help ease you through.

Turns out, each boss is timed to the music that accompanies them, which subliminally can help win the fight. If the music starts to swell then you know something really big is about to go down, for example, so get the hell out the way.

Obviously being FromSoft they can't have you getting too comfortable, so the Dancer of the Boreal Valley can still attack you whenever it likes.
