10 Video Game Trophies That Cost You A Platinum

1. Mein Leben - Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

B.J. Blazkowicz and Nazi killing go hand in hand, it has done since way back in 1992. The last thing most players ever heard as they put down waves of Nazis in the original Wolfenstein 3D, was “Mein Leben” and it used to be a thing of joy.

Though with the most recent entry in the main franchise of Wolfenstein that seemingly innocent phase has now taken on a completely different life of its own. Mein Leben now lives on a difficulty in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and might just be the hardest feat any player had to deal with in the last generation of consoles.

This is because this humble little Bronze Trophy of all things requires plates to make it through The New Colossus without dying and takes away the ability to save. B.J. essentially gets one life as he is already dying in the game, so it seems apt, but damn is it punishing.

If the idea of permadeath wasn’t already intimidating in itself, well how about the revelation that Mein Leben is just as hard in terms of difficulty as I am death incarnate! Sure, this isn’t impossible, but it will require a hell of a lot of dedication and a whole load of restarts - because by the end if you aren’t crying Mein Leben, then Blazkowicz certainly will.
