10 Video Game True Endings That Change EVERYTHING

7. Become A Great One - Bloodborne (2015)

There are three endings to FromSoftware's gothic horror masterpiece, Bloodborne, and, as it's commonly known by now, none of them are particularly 'good'.

The easiest ending to see comes when you submit your life before Gehrman, the custodian of the Hunter's Dream. He beheads you with his Burial Blade, severing your tie to the dream, and you wake up to the real world at the end of the hunt.

A not-so-simple ending involves killing Gehrman and taking his place as custodian, which traps you in the Hunter's Dream until another hunter arrives to free you.

But the true ending, the one that's both the hardest to unlock and the most intriguing story-wise, becomes available after you find and consume three thirds of an umbilical cord. Once Gehrman is killed, the Moon Presence will appear before you, turning hostile provided the requirements are met.

You'll then have to put an end to this otherworldly final boss, which transitions straight into a cutscene of the Plain Doll coddling a slug-like creature she addresses as "Good Hunter".

The implication here is that you have ascended beyond the plane of humanity and become an infant Great One - presumably a replacement for the Moon Presence as the sustainer of the dream. See this one for yourself, and you too may be blessed with eyes on the inside.
