10 Video Game TV Shows HBO Should Make After The Last Of Us

8. Assassin's Creed

Although it received the cinematic treatment back in 2016, Assassin's Creed's success continues to remain in the gaming side of entertainment. As the movie illustrated, the concept of Assassin's Creed remains the series' strongest point, but when you're forced to explain a concept that took tens of hours to explain in-game within the span of a movie, then you've effectively doomed yourself. However, place that in a TV show structure where time isn't an issue, and an Assassin's Creed adaptation could work quite well.

Plotlines for the Assassin's Creed franchise have transitioned somewhat, but the central focus of the series is on a present-day character whose ancestral bloodline goes centuries back to really interesting people, each person notable in their own way at different points in history. Through the use of a device called the Animus, this modern person is able to take control of that ancestor, allowing them to relive their lives and uncover previously unknown (and valuable) secrets.

As HBO has shown, they love their historical projects, so Assassin's Creed would fit right in with their library. Dive into legitimate aspects of the past, but allow the showrunners to create something of their own within each time period. With that HBO money, the lavish sets, costumes, and striking action set pieces would all be possible, and the Assassin's Creed franchise will be hitting on all cylinders.
