10 Video Game TV Shows HBO Should Make After The Last Of Us

7. Persona

Unlike other entires, this example is one that should NOT be live-action. As much as Netflix and those Disney live-action remakes would like to convince you otherwise, taking away a property's visually-distinct art style and making it 'realistic' does not make it better. Persona's greatest strengths are in its style, and it'd be a shame to lose it.

Persona is another series that somewhat alternates between instalments but is ultimately about characters who, through the power of their alternate reality personas, are able to take on great evils and threats that they'd normally be no match for. The story and style of each game is always different, which would allow any showrunner to get creative and tell whatever story they want to tell. It can be a murder mystery, it can be a story about class revolution, whatever you please.

Some of you may ask 'but why would HBO take on an anime? They haven't before.' Well, considering that the upcoming HBO Max is going to be the home of Studio Ghibli's entire filmography, fans of those films would likely love some new anime content that's just as high-quality and engaging. As any fan of the games can tell you, Persona is a series with much more going on than initially thought.
