10 Video Game Unlocks Nobody Could Afford
3. Ruler Of Wraeclast Title - Path Of Exile (2013)
Beginning life in Alpha release back in 2010, dark fantasy RPG Path Of Exiles finally released in 2013. Often held as the spiritual successor to Diablo II, this title was a call-back to the action-RPGs of old.
After creating your character, the game begins with the chosen hero waking up on the shore of the penal colony of Wraeclast as another one of the exiles banished there. From here, players will spend their time exploring the lands and face the various evils it holds.
Another free-to-play game, developers Grinding Gear have a collection of DLC packs on sale. These range from bundles of in-game currency to expansive character packs, one of which (the Voidborn Support Pack) costs over £370. As ludicrously expensive as that sounds, that wasn’t this game's priciest DLC.
That honour went to the Ruler Of Wraeclast supporter pack.
Available during the game’s open beta, this $12,500 DLC granted the buyer a treasure-trove of treats including the unique Ruler Of Wraeclast title to proudly display on their account. Buying the package also earned the buyer's name a spot on the game credits alongside letting them design a monster with the developers.
Amazingly, a user with the name Charan bought this DLC.
