10 Video Game Villains Who Didn't Show Up Until The End

7. Akuma - Super Street Fighter II Turbo

Spider Man PS4 Doctor Octopus
Capcom

Super Street Fighter II Turbo is notable for introducing the immediate fan favourite character of Akuma, who appears in the game as a secret final boss, and can also be unlocked for casual play by inputting a code. But the "legit" way to encounter Akuma is during the single-player mode.

If you can fight through the game's roster and make it to M. Bison in under 20 minutes without using any continues, a then-unnamed Akuma will show up out of nowhere, kick Bison to death, and serve as the extremely difficult "true" final boss.

It was an incredible way to announce Akuma, who remains the most powerful fighter in Street Fighter history, and it all began with him making the series' most visible antagonist - at that point - look like a total dweeb.
