10 Video Game Villains Who Didn't Show Up Until The End

6. Dormin - Shadow Of The Colossus

Spider Man PS4 Doctor Octopus
Bluepoint Games

Shadow of the Colossus sees protagonist Wander traversing a forbidden mystical land and slaying sixteen gigantic creatures in order to restore the life of his love, Mono.

He does this under the belief that it will allow the entity known as Dormin to revive her, and until the very end of the game, Dormin is nothing more than a booming, disembodied voice which periodically speaks to Wander.

But at game's end, it's revealed that Dormin actually manipulated Wander into killing the colossi in order to free the scattered remnants of his body, which now form together and possess Wander's own body, transforming him into a gigantic, colossus-like beast.

After a brief rampage, however, Dormin's presence is negated by Lord Emon, apparently sealing Dormin back within the temple while reincarnating Wander as a horned baby.

Dormin may have been hanging around for the entire game unbeknownst to the player, but only in the final 15-or-so minutes did he actually have the means to show his true colours and materialise as a card-carrying villain.
