10 Video Game Villains Who Didn't Show Up Until The End

5. Doctor Octopus - Spider-Man

Insomniac Games

Though Dr. Otto Octavius is introduced relatively early in Spider-Man, Insomniac certainly made players wait (and then some) for his expected transformation into Doctor Octopus - enough that you might've assumed they were actually saving him for the second game.

We don't first see Octavius wearing a functional version of Doc Ock's robotic limbs until two-thirds of the way through the main story, and even then, it's not entirely clear whether or not we're going to see him in action.

After all, Spidey has had numerous encounters with Mister Negative by this point, who was largely marketed as the game's primary antagonist.

But at the end of the Raft showdown, with barely a quarter of the game to go, Doc Ock finally announces himself as an outright baddie, helping the Sinister Six break out of the prison before attacking the web-slinger.

Doc Ock certainly makes for a thrilling antagonist for the remainder of the game, even if players probably spent a solid 10-12 hours waiting for him to show up in earnest.
