10 Video Game Villains Who Didn't Show Up Until The End

As incredible as Mass Effect 2 is, there's no denying how divisive its final boss encounter also is.

At the end of the game, it's revealed that the Collectors have been constructing a Human-Reaper hybrid, leading to a wildly overblown boss fight against this ridiculous, giant Terminator-aping monstrosity.

In addition to how silly the Human-Reaper looks, just about nobody playing the game had any idea they'd be facing something so grandiose as the game's final enemy.

And due to how harshly its design clashes with the game's more modest approach to character aesthetics, it was hardly a pleasant surprise at all.

All things considered, it was most certainly a good thing that this clunker was saved for the final 10 minutes - in an otherwise magnificent 20-hour game, that's a fair enough trade-off.
