10 Video Game Villains Who Were Right All Along (And You Hated Them For It)
6. Solas - Dragon Age: Inquisition
Solas's betrayal and revelation that he is the elven god Dreadwolf in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Trespasser DLC have led to a lot of people turning away from his character.
Since his plan is to bring the Fade and the material world together, destroying Thedas and its inhabitants in the process, his character has become the ultimate villain within the game's community.
The thing is, however, Solas's plan, as genocidal and destructive as it might seem, isn't actually completely without reason. In fact, you could even say Solas is right in trying to tear the Veil between the worlds.
You see, throughout the Trespasser DLC, you learn that the world of Thedas didn't used to be separated from the Fade. The Veil was created by the other elven gods to oppress their people and remain in power.
What Solas wants to ultimately achieve is bringing the world back to its original state, which also means fixing all of the problems with demons and magic that came about with the Veil's creation.
Yes, his plans involve destroying Thedas, but when the alternative is living in a world with unfixable and terrifying demon problems, starting anew is, at the very least, the right idea.
