10 Video Game Villains Who Were Right All Along (And You Hated Them For It)

Abby Anderson is one of the two main characters of the Last Of Us Part II, alongside Ellie and the villain that the latter spends the entire game tracking down after Abby had murdered Joel.

Throughout a good chunk of the game, you get to play as Abby to see the world from her perspective and realize that, like Ellie, she's just another hurt human being who lets revenge drive her to commit atrocities.

However, you don't actually need all of this additional storytelling to understand why Abby murdered Joel or why, no matter how much we all hate it, she was right to kill him.

You see, Abby is the daughter of one of the scientists that Joel kills in the first game after he learns the Fireflies want to kill Ellie to find the cure to the cordyceps infestation.

Although it's easy to sympathize with Joel in that moment, it's clear that, objectively, his decision is selfish and morally wrong as he ruins humanity's one chance to return to normal.

Not only that, in the process of saving Ellie, Joel murders dozens of other people's loved ones, one of which is Abby's father, which is exactly why the girl is justified in killing him.
