10 Video Game Weapons That Cost Players Everything

8. The Phantom Bow - Battlefield 4

Battlefield 4 holds a very impressive 85% rating on Metacritic and it's easy to see why... because it's not Battlefield V, obviously.

However, for all of BF4's brilliance there are some aspects of the game that are a bit on the questionable side, and none are more baffling than unlocking the Phantom Bow - probably the best short/medium range weapon in the game and one of the coolest aesthetically too.

The cost of obtaining such a legendary weapon? Time, concentration, effort, commitment... the list goes on and on and on! Firstly, the player must complete all of the hidden Phantom assignments, then locate a hidden dog tag that spawns once every 20 minutes or so in a teeny, tiny box you'd never spot if you were looking for it (and only on certain maps).

Once you've got one, which can take ages, you need to put on all of your Phantom camo, find a secret elevator and with at least THREE other people who all need to have a dogtag and camo and the Holy Grail and a selection of Rocking Horse droppings.. enter a password that the game doesn't actually tell you.

For a bow. A bow that is pretty good but not worth the effort. At all.
