10 Video Game Weapons You're A Dick For Using
8. Smart Pistol - Titanfall
In modern first-person shooters, pistols are often reduced to a sidearm, making any need for it to be limited as the assault rifle you've been using is packed with ammunition.
Respawn's Titanfall brought relevance to pistols in online multiplayer games, but this came at the cost of what can only be referred to as cheating. The Smart Pistol, at first glance, was nothing more than a standard military pistol with a touch of the futuristic to its appearance.
You'll soon be introduced to its perks when you boot up an online match and find yourself at the wrong end of its barrel.
A semi-automatic weapon, the smart pistol made up for its dismal fire rate with accuracy. If an enemy is within close range, the weapon will automatically lock onto their head or chest. There was no need to be effective at aiming down sight or spotting incoming adversaries as the gun simply did it for you.
The verticality that Titanfall brought to the first-person shooter formula meant that players who were proficient at the game had little need for it, as they could use their surroundings to out-manoeuvre their opponent.
Regardless, the Smart Pistol is still cheap as hell.
