Because Limbo's black and white, dreamlike aesthetic perfectly captures the uneasy, creepy atmosphere of your worst night-terrors, the fact that you're being chased by a giant video game spider comes with even more intensity than your regular old bug-hunting shooter. From the moment you stumble across it early in the game, the way Limbo's spider slinks into the background, almost camouflaged by the title's aesthetic, makes you instantly wary of every single piece of shrouded scenery in the game.
