10 Video Games Consoles Couldn't Handle
7. XCOM 2: War of the Chosen
The unforgiving yet rewarding XCOM offers some of the best real-time-tactics you can find in the industry. As a franchise heavily tied to PC, it was unlikely that consoles would get a major slice of the action. This was evident with XCOM: Interceptor and The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, two spin-off titles that were met with a tepid response.
Upon its revival in 2012, the dev team went the extra mile and ventured to other platforms, including mobile devices. After XCOM: Enemy Unknown was released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 to solid critical reception, you'd think Fireaxis would have taken the same approach towards porting the sequel.
Regretfully, the game's potential to offer its standout strategy action turned into a tedious slog for console owners. The expansion to the widely acclaimed base game suffered from save game corruption, long load times and texture bugs.
It's a pitiful port, one that feels like it was thrown out the door with minimal effort. Many users took to Metacritic and other websites to complain about the technical issues. War of the Chosen is a fantastic offering all around, but on PS4 and Xbox One, you'll have to fight through poor performance to get to its finer qualities.
