10 Video Games Consoles Couldn't Handle

5. Team Fortress 2

Cyberpunk 2077
Valve

Having ran consistently for over thirteen years, Valve's Team Fortress 2 is one of the most popular online shooters for the PC platform. However, unlike its predeseccor, it also came to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 thanks to the efforts of ports from Electronic Arts.

Console players had a blast with the game, but the good times wouldn't last. Being external to Valve's leading version, this is a case of consoles simply being abandoned over time rather than being unable to run. As the years went on, seventh gen console owners found their version gradually being phased out.

Team Fortress 2 did have connection problems on launch, but it otherwise ran fairly smoothly with little in the way of technical problems during gameplay. However, the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions via The Orange Box fell prey to hackers and a shallow content pool once Valve and EA stopped supporting them.

Since then, the game has seen countless updates over the last decade. With the sheer amount of content added to the title, it's difficult to see how any console version would have held up over time. Luckily for the PC crowd though, TF2 remains an immensely enjoyable title with a dedictated community to this very day.
