10 Video Games EVERYONE Gave Up On
9. The Last Case of Benedict Fox
Lovecraftian metroidvania, The Last Case of Benedict Fox, came in at the fourth most retired game of 2023 as a percentage of those who played it. Another Game Pass offering which no doubt bolstered the number of people picking it up and then noping out, this one currently has a retirement stat of 12.3%. The game is only 11 hours long so it begs the question of why people didn't want to see it through to the end.
Mostly, players said they were getting stuck. Either due to the difficulty of the puzzles or because they were so inundated with bugs, some of which were game breaking.
The game has been described as messy with imprecise, slow combat, and it suffers from the cardinal sins of stuttering and input lag. So, yeah, this one checks out.
