With a staggering attention to player interaction, Destiny features an online world that is truly alive. Bungie promises a world that is constantly changing, culminating in moments that even they don't plan for. This thrilling concept conjures up thoughts of what greatness the game can truly achieve with a talented team at the helm, and there's no doubt that Bungie is up to the task. Destiny takes place seven-hundred years into the future, where a a catastrophic event known as "the Collapse" completely destabilized humanity's grip on the cosmos. The survivors of this destructive time were saved by a being known as "the Traveller", who granted them the ability to wield incredible abilities. It's a strong set-up, and certainly poses some interesting potential scenarios. Bungie has referred to Destiny as a "shared-world shooter", where the gap between online multiplayer and single-player campaigns are much smaller than ever before. It's a much less intrusive system than any other game before it, and includes on-the-fly matchmaking to make sure that any player you meet is a good fit. This sense of taking care of the player and giving them the best possible experience is only part of what makes Destiny so exciting. It's a chance for something truly epic, and Bungie's opportunity to create an even bigger IP than Halo. Your destiny begins in July of this year.
